4 | General information | Note | Gp41 also known as glycoprotein 41 is subunit of the envelope protein complex of retroviruses, including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Gp41 is transmembrane protein that contains several sites within its ectodomain that are required for infection of host cells. Also, HIV-2 gp36 is the main target to serological test for diagnosis. So we are making chimeric recombinant antigen that composed with HIV-1 subtype B (USA epidemic) gp41 and gruop O gp41, HIV-2 gp36. This chimeric recombinant antigen can serological test for HIV diagnosis. |
